This is not a spring hockey team but a hockey developmental experience that is open to any level of hockey player (TYKE, NOVICE, ATOM)
This program was created as ice sessions at this age are often the most difficult to properly deliver due to the skill discrepancy as well as the appropriateness of the skills being taught. The 'EXPERIENCE' program has developed a philosophy as well as methods to maximize the development that each player will receive during the HD experience.
To ensure maximum player improvement, Spartan worked on the creation of a series of practice plans designed to progress the Individual Skills of each player in the group. The practice plans will also include teaching progressions for all skills while being mindful of creating a fun, engaging and safe environment for the young players.
Curriculums will be developed specifically for group appropriate to age, number of players and their skill sets. The curriculum will consist of 85% development time which will consist of developmental technical skill instructions. These sessions will focus on individual Skills, a Battle/Compete and small area game skills. The last 15% will consist of small area games such as cross ice relays and cross ice scrimmages.
The HD Experience will primary focus on the basic FUNdamentals of hockey
Skating
Stopping
Turning
Stickhandling
Passing
Shooting
With the addition of the HD Experience, SPARTAN HOCKEY continues to provide the best developmental programming options for its TYKE, NOVICE and ATOM players. Players enrolled in the HD EXPERIENCE will receive high end player treatment and elite level development from our elite skill coaches. As development starts at an early age we created a developmental model that will be a leading program within Minor Hockey Associations.
Schedule of HD Experience Camps
ALL SESSIONS ARE HELD AT CHESTERMERE REC CENTER
Tyke and Novice Players
Starting April 1- June 10
Monday 5:30-6:30pm
Thursday 5:15 - 6:15pm
Atom Players
Starting April 2- June 14
Tuesdays 4:45 - 5:45pm
Fridays 5:15-6:15pm
Dates subject to change due to registration.
Each program consists of 20 x 1hour ice sessions for a total of 20 hour of Skill development.
COST: $699.99 plus GST
